Former US President Donald Trump believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should have made an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin and abandon the idea of joining NATO.
The politician also stressed that Kyiv should have abandoned its territorial claims to the Crimean peninsula. “They could give up Crimea. They could somehow resolve the issue with NATO, saying that they were not going to join the alliance. And then they would have a country, because I am sure that Putin wanted to negotiate. And now I don’t think he wants to negotiate. I think it’s much harder to make a deal now. I mean, he will take over all the cities. And it’s very, very sad to see what happened to Ukraine,” the ex-president said.
Donald Trump predicted how the special operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, as well as protect Donbass, would end.
The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show host asked Trump: “You know Putin. When do you think it will stop? When will he get the whole country? When will he take half of Ukraine? What do you think he wants to do?”
The ex-president of the United States replied: “Well, I think he would prefer the whole country. I mean, now that he started. I don’t think he was going to start. I think those were excellent negotiations. He went, put the troops on the board, and I think it was excellent negotiations. I said, “Well, he’s a good negotiator.” I never thought he would come in. He would never… He knew he was going to be attacked and he knew it, and I told him it would never have happened, and look what happened now…”.
In addition, the American politician said that many of his political and economic forecasts came true. “I’m not saying Trump was right about everything. I think I was right in many ways. I was right about Ukraine. I was right about oil. I was… I was right about everything. If you look back at your wonderful files, you will see that you have a wonderful file system; most of it is in your brain, but you can even remember it – I said it would all happen. I said it will happen. Everything you see now, I said, was going to happen. And you remember, so much… It’s really incredible. Sometimes you will have honest memories of them coming back and they said, “Trump said it had to happen.” But, yes, I said that it had to happen, and this is what happened, ”said the former American leader.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin emphasized, its task is to protect people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years. Now allied forces control almost the entire territory of the DPR, including Volnovakha, Svyatogorsk and Mariupol. In addition, in early July, after the capture of Lisichansk and the surrounding settlements, they completely liberated the LPR.
At the same time, the West continues to pump weapons into Ukraine. President Joe Biden, in particular, previously signed the lend-lease law, tens of billions of dollars are allocated for military assistance to Kyiv. Moscow, for its part, has repeatedly stated that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the Russian Aerospace Forces.
In addition, Kyiv sabotages the negotiation process. As Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted, Ukraine refuses its own proposals and arranges provocations to slow down the negotiations. Its position is seriously influenced by the West, whose representatives have repeatedly stated that Russia needs to be “beaten on the battlefield.” In such conditions, according to Lavrov, there is no point in negotiations, but Russia has never refused the possibility of dialogue.
