Former American leader Donald Trump criticized the head of the Republican minority in the US Senate Mitch McConnell, reports TASS.
According to the politician, “because of leaders like Senator McConnell, the US Republican Party will never again be respected.”
Trump expressed the opinion that the Republican did not want to “show will.” In addition, the ex-president accused the senator of lack of political intuition.
According to Trump, it was McConnell’s position that led to the Republicans losing their majority in the upper house of the United States Congress. In particular, he said that the senator was responsible for the fact that the Republicans lost the victory to the Democrats in the second round of the Senate in Georgia.
McConnell previously said Trump was responsible for the January 6 Capitol riots. Following the attack on the Congress building, the House of Representatives impeached Trump on charges of incitement to rebellion. On Saturday, the Senate acquitted the Republican through impeachment proceedings.
