Tony Blair accused of violating quarantine

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was accused of violating quarantine after returning from the United States. According to The Sunday Telegraph, Blair was seen in a London restaurant ten days after his trip to the States.

According to the rules that are now in force in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic, all visitors from abroad must serve a two-week quarantine for self-isolation.

Blair flew to the United States for two days at the invitation of the White House. There, the former prime minister took part in the solemn ceremony of the official establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

A Blair spokesman said that the former prime minister passed coronavirus tests several times after returning home, so his appearance in a public place does not pose any threat.

Note that according to the World Health Organization, over the past week in Europe, 34% more people were infected than a week earlier. The UK is in first place in the region in terms of the number of infected (more than 110 thousand).

In this regard, in London, since October 17, the quarantine for coronavirus has been tightened. The British capital moved to the second of three levels of the system of restrictions. It implies a ban on visiting guests and any meeting in the premises of people who do not live together. In the fresh air it will be possible to meet with a company of no more than six people.
