The head of the Russian delegation, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy said that the Russian delegation intends to ask its questions during the spring session of PACE, among which are the situation of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine and the Baltic countries, the water blockade of Crimea and the lack of reaction to this from the officials of the Council of Europe …
He also noted that the Russian delegation wants to draw the attention of Europeans to attempts to rewrite history and the situation of the civilian population of Donbass.
“The Russian delegation is ready to convey its position on all the declared topics to the colleagues and is aimed at active work during the upcoming session,” summed up the head of the delegation.
Let us remind you that the PACE session will be held from 19 to 22 April in Strasbourg. Tolstoy said earlier that the Russian delegation would take part in it remotely. According to him, this is due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in France, and parliamentarians also intend to attend the message of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly.
Meanwhile, Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, announced Russia’s possible withdrawal from PACE in the light of the recent anti-Russian events.
