Tokayev: attempted coup in Kazakhstan failed

The attempted coup in Kazakhstan has failed. This was stated by the president of the republic, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, RIA Novosti reports.

During a meeting of the lower house of parliament, the head of state said that the attempt on the integrity of the country had also failed.

“Together, as a single nation, we defended Alma-Ata and other regional centers. They will be restored in the shortest possible time and will become even more beautiful, ”Tokayev added.

Earlier, the president of the republic said that the purpose of the terrorists was to undermine the constitutional order. In total, nearly 10,000 protesters were detained in the country.
