Our soldiers of the 15th Alexandria Brigade are now, in accordance with an international agreement, on behalf of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, performing a special mission – the mission of peacekeepers. “

Dmitry Azarov recalled that the Samara servicemen have repeatedly taken part in peacekeeping missions. In particular, from December 2005 to November 2008, the 15th motorized rifle brigade carried out peacekeeping tasks in the zone of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict.

“Repeatedly our fighters stood up for the defense in order to prevent conflict and bloodshed. They have always fulfilled this sacred duty with honor, dignity, and selflessness. They defend the world and ensure the safety of hundreds of thousands of people, ”the Governor emphasized. He added that it is always difficult for fighters far from their homeland, and during the New Year holidays, separation from family and friends is felt especially. “And I am very glad that today we are handing over modest, but necessary gifts,” said the Head of the region. “These gifts will remind our fighters, defenders that their relatives and friends, grateful citizens of our country, residents of the Samara region are waiting for them in their homeland alive and healthy after successfully fulfilling the high mission entrusted to them. Together with these gifts to Nagorno-Karabakh, we will give a piece of our heart, soul and warmth of our native land ”.

Dmitry Azarov expressed confidence that the high training of the Samara motorized rifle brigade soldiers, their professionalism and responsibility will ensure the fulfillment of the peacekeeping mission.

Acting Commander of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Alexandria Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Kalmykov assured that the Samara peacekeepers will fulfill their duty with honor and will never disgrace their native region.

The Governor addressed separate words of gratitude for the support of the servicemen from the Samara region to the Yunarmeys who prepared more than 2 thousand letters, postcards and drawings with New Year’s greetings: “I want to thank the guys for understanding at such a young age what civil and military duty, responsibility and military service are, for respect for the feat of previous generations ”.

All collected gifts will be delivered to Samara peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh in the coming days.
