Director Tim Burton will direct the Wednesday Addams series for the Netflix streaming service.
According to this Deadline edition, the eight-episode spin-off series will be given to the iconic Addams Family character Wednesday.
In the original motion picture, a 7-year-old girl is obsessed with death and experiments on Pugsley’s brother for fun or as punishment.
Wednesday will be a detective, supernatural comedy that chronicles the younger Addams’ years of study at Nevermore Academy. There, the young lady will try to master her showing extrasensory abilities, as well as prevent the series of murders that terrorize the city, and unravel the mystery that confused her parents a quarter of a century ago.
The script of the project will be written by the demiurges of the series about Superman’s high school years “Smallville” Al Gough and Miles Millar. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer will be producing.
The spin-off will be directed by renowned director Tim Burton.
The Addams Family was written in 1938 by the American cartoonist Charles Addams. Two television series and two films were shot on it, directed by Barry Sonennfeld.
