Oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya spoke about the upcoming talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. The politician regretted that the Russian leader sided with his Belarusian colleague.
The former candidate for the post of the head of the republic stated that Alexander Lukashenko is an illegitimate president. Not only the majority of compatriots, but also the leaders of Western states refused to recognize his victory in the elections.
According to the oppositionist, all agreements that Lukashenka and Putin will accept on Monday will have no legal force. "The agreements will be revised by the new government," Tikhanovskaya Telegram channel "Pool Pervoy" quotes.
Earlier, the politician opposed the formation in Russia of a reserve of security forces to suppress protests in Belarus. Tikhanovskaya stated that this step threatens the republic's sovereignty.
It should be noted that immediately after the results of the elections were announced, the oppositionist moved to Lithuania with her children. As the associates of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya reported, she decided to move under pressure from the authorities.
The Lithuanian government recognized the oppositionist as "the elected president of Belarus." Any actions of the illegitimate Alexander Lukashenko in domestic and foreign policy were called a crime against the people.
