Florence Illy released a photo of Lyudmila Petrovna from the family archive.
The world famous opera singer Dmitry Hvorostovsky passed away on November 22, 2017 after a long struggle with cancer. The artist was only 55 years old. Following the last will of the baritone, his body was cremated.
The death of Dmitry Hvorostovsky was a real shock for his widow Florence Illy-Hvorostovsky. She often shares joint photos with her husband on social networks, in the signature to which she says that she will always remember and love the opera singer. Dmitry and Florence lived together for 18 years. They met in 1999 in Geneva at a rehearsal of Don Juan – the singer was supposed to perform the part of Don Juan himself, and Florence was his stage partner. As Dmitry’s wife later recalled, their meeting on that day might not have taken place. The fact is that at first Hvorostovsky was not going to come to the rehearsal, as his performance was planned in another city. However, at the last moment, the artist changed his plans.
In 2003, the couple had a son Maxim, four years later – daughter Nina… According to the singer’s widow, the greatest happiness for him was to be at home, since Dmitry was almost always on tour. “With Flosha my life has radically changed, it started to play with bright colors! I think and breathe and sing easily. I have always looked for inner balance and thanks to this woman I found it. Everything fell into place. Flosha allows me to be myself, treats with great reverence what I do in my profession – and this is very important for me, ”Hvorostovsky said in an interview.
