The use of Bayraktar in Donbass does not violate Minsk, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The use of a drone by Kiev in Donbass does not violate the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said on October 28. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Ukraine has not violated anything,” Kuleba said. According to him, the Ukrainian military exercised the right to self-defense, while observing the necessary communication procedures through the joint coordination and control center and with the OSCE.

According to Kuleba, the howitzer, which was destroyed by the drone, “was much closer to the demarcation line than allowed by the Minsk agreements.”

“For some reason, when a howitzer is slipped to the demarcation line, our positions are shelled, and our soldiers are killed, this fact remains without a proper assessment,” the Ukrainian minister commented on the statement of the German Foreign Ministry, which stated that Berlin “blames all parties” to the conflict for using UAVs.

“Any assessments should be given taking into account the full context of the situation,” concluded Kuleba.

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry said that Paris is concerned about information about the use of a Turkish drone by Ukraine in the Donbas.

“We are concerned about the increased intensity of hostilities in eastern Ukraine,” said a French foreign ministry official.

The diplomat stressed that Paris and Berlin will continue their efforts within the framework of the “Normandy format” in order to implement the Minsk agreements.

We will remind, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said last Tuesday that the military for the first time used the Bayraktar strike drone in Donbass, it destroyed the enemy’s howitzer with a bomb. At the same time, flights of military aircraft and drones along the entire contact line are prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the conflict in southeastern Ukraine could not be resolved by military means; attempts to solve the problem by force could turn into a tragedy.

The diplomat also called on Western countries to use their influence “to return Kiev to the path of achieving a lasting peace in Donbass by political and diplomatic means.”
