The US plans to lift the sanctions against the ICC imposed by Trump

The administration of US President Joe Biden plans to lift sanctions against the International Criminal Court imposed by former American leader Donald Trump, Foreign Policy reported, citing a source.

According to the interlocutor of the publication, the authorities intend to announce their decision this or next week.

Recall that in June last year, Trump signed a relevant decree in response to a court decision to investigate possible crimes committed in Afghanistan by the US military.

After that, the US Treasury announced the imposition of sanctions against ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensuda and head of the justice department Fakiso Mochochoko.

Earlier it was reported that the White House is also investigating possible attempts by Trump to intervene in scientific research.
