The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has made it mandatory to wear masks on public transport from February 1.
According to RIA Novosti, the requirement applies to passengers on trains, subways, buses, taxis, ships and airplanes, both arriving in the United States and leaving it.
Protective masks covering the mouth and nose will also be required by transport workers.
Children under two years of age and some other categories of citizens are exempt from wearing masks.
Note that the United States ranks first in the world in the number of cases of coronavirus. The country registered 25,050,308 infected.
Earlier, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, as part of the fight against the spread of coronavirus, decided to maintain restrictions on entry into the country from the Schengen countries, the UK, Ireland and Brazil. Also, the American leader decided to add South Africa to this list, since a more infectious strain of coronavirus infection was found there.
