The UN is concerned about the latest missile launches in the DPRK

The United Nations is concerned about reports of recent missile launches by the DPRK, including reports that a ballistic missile was launched from the sea. This statement was made at a briefing by the deputy official representative of the UN Secretary General Farhan Khak, RIA Novosti reports.

Haq recalled that the organization has repeatedly called on Pyongyang to fully comply with international obligations within the framework of UN Security Council resolutions, as well as to promptly resume diplomatic efforts towards the complete verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

On the morning of October 19, information appeared that the North Korean military launched a short-range ballistic missile towards the Sea of ​​Japan.

The range of its flight, according to various estimates, was from 450 to 590 km, and the height of the trajectory was 60 km. At the same time, the Japanese authorities reported that the DPRK launched two missiles.

The US condemned the ballistic missile launch and called on North Korea to refrain from any destabilizing action.
