The United Nations Mission in Kosovo has not received an official notification of Pristina’s announcement of the Russian employee persona non grata, TASS reports.
It is noted that this was stated by the representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarrick.
He added that the United Nations mission in Kosovo and Metohija and the UN headquarters are taking measures to ensure the safety of the employee, and also maintain contacts with representatives of the authorities on this issue.
Earlier, the government of the self-proclaimed republic of Kosovo declared the UN mission officer from Russia persona non grata. The Cabinet of Ministers said that his activities are “harmful” and “violate the national security of the republic.”
The Russian Embassy in Serbia called the expulsion of a United Nations employee from Kosovo a provocation.
