Alexander Gintsburg, director of the NF Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Ministry of Health, said that the results of post-registration studies of the Sputnik V vaccine with the participation of volunteers aged 70 and over will appear within six months. He said this on the air of the Dok-Tok program on Channel One.
He clarified that now 40 thousand volunteers are participating in the post-registration studies that are taking place in the capital. According to him, they will definitely include people aged 70 and over.
According to the results of these studies, it will be possible to officially authorize the use of the vaccine for citizens over 70-80 years old.
Earlier, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that about 14% of participants in post-registration trials of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine complain of weakness and muscle pain, and occasionally an increase in temperature is observed. The minister specified that these side effects are described in the drug's instructions and, as a rule, disappear within a day and a half.
