The State Duma responded to the US condition for lifting sanctions against Russia: There is nothing to frighten

State Duma Deputy Ruslan Balbek commented on the US condition for lifting sanctions against Russia. According to him, Washington can no longer scare Moscow with anything.

The political coordinator of the US mission to the UN, Rodney Huntert, said the day before that the sanctions would be in effect until Russia abandons its position on Crimea and Donbass. He also demanded that Moscow begin to comply with all the Minsk agreements and withdraw its troops from the territory of Donbass.

The State Duma reacted to the words of the American representative. Deputy Ruslan Balbek noted that there were always attacks. According to him, Crimea will remain part of Russia, despite any threats. “To be honest, Washington has nothing to frighten us with,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The deputy stressed that Moscow does not need Washington’s consultations. Relations between Russia and America will improve only when the latter stops interfering in other people’s internal affairs. “All these shouts from the United States are work for the public,” Balbeck said.

Recall that Crimea was annexed to Russia in early 2014 after a referendum. The Ukrainian authorities still consider the peninsula a temporarily occupied territory and intend to return it. In Russia, however, they claim that the vote was open and democratic.

Previously “” wrote that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) officially recognized Crimea as Russian. At the same time, the Grand Chamber refused to consider the issue of the legality of the annexation of the peninsula from the point of view of international norms.
