The State Department’s website published false information about Trump’s departure

False information appeared on the website of the United States Department of State, according to which the presidency of the country’s current leader, Donald Trump, has come to an end.

On Monday morning (Washington time), the official biography of Trump and the country’s vice president, Mike Pence, posted a postscript that their term expires on January 11. The false information was removed, but the corresponding screenshots from the site were posted on social networks.

According to the BuzzFeed portal, the author of the fake information is a “disgruntled employee” of the State Department. The department plans to conduct an investigation. At the same time, it is noted that it will be complicated by the fact that many employees of the State Department are allowed to edit the site.

Trump and Pence are due to step down on January 20 following the inauguration of elected leader and vice president Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. At the same time, the Democrats insist on the impeachment of the Republican. Earlier it was reported that a corresponding resolution was submitted to the House of Representatives of the US Congress.
