The State Bureau of Investigation welcomed Poroshenko’s decision to return to Ukraine

The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine welcomes the decision of the country’s ex-president Petro Poroshenko to return to his homeland and participate in a court session where the issue of his possible arrest will be considered, TASS reports.

At the same time, the press secretary of the State Bureau of the department, Tatyana Sapyan, expressed her hope that the trial would be held in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure. The bureau expects Poroshenko to come to court himself.

Sapyan said that at the Kiev airport on Monday, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation tried to hand the summons to the ex-president, but he ignored them.

Recall that Petro Poroshenko, having arrived from Warsaw, went through passport control at the airport in Kiev. Initially, he said that the border guards were trying not to let him into the country. He later went through the procedure and left the customs area.

It was also reported that the ex-president at the border control was handed a subpoena with a subpoena to choose a measure of restraint in the case of treason.
