Russian football clubs spent $ 84.9 million on transfers over the current window. The amount was disclosed in a report available on the website of the International Football Federation (FIFA).
According to the source, spending on football players in Russia in the summer of 2021 became the seventh in the world. English clubs are in the lead, spending $ 1.147 billion. Italian teams came in second with 473.8 million. The third place was left for the French – 428.9 million. Next came the German (337.9), Spanish (325.4), Belgian (120.7), Portuguese (75.4), Turkish (73.3) and Dutch clubs (53.6).
FIFA provided information for the period from June to August 2021. In Russia, the transfer window closes on 7 September.
In July of this year, the Russian Premier League ranked tenth in the list of the most expensive leagues in the world in terms of the aggregate value of all players. The player of the national championship is estimated at 979 million euros. The first place on the list was taken by the English Premier League (Premier League) with a value of 8.56 billion euros. In second place is the Italian Serie A (4.96 billion euros). The third place is occupied by the Spanish La Liga (4.89 billion euros).
