The Russian national team dropped in the medal standings of the Paralympics

The Russian national team dropped from third to fourth place in the overall medal standings of the Paralympics in Tokyo. The correspondent of “” informs about it.

On the fifth day of competition, Russian athletes won 12 medals: two gold, two silver and eight bronze. The shot putter Denis Gnezdilov and the swimmer Dmitry Chernyaev were victorious, the swimming representatives Denis Tarasov and Anna Krivshina took the second places in the competition.

Bronze awards were won by Stepanida Artakhinova and Bair Shigaev in the mixed team compound archery tournament, runners Roman Tarasov and Vitaly Gritsenko, judoka Anatoly Shevchenko, powerlifter Vera Muratova, swimmers Vladimir Danilenozhko and Iliya Shigunyanikov in length, as well as swimmers Anna Sigapunikov and Anna Sigapyanikov.

The Russian team now has 15 gold, 9 silver and 28 bronze medals. The team is in fourth place behind the USA (15, 16, 9), Great Britain (23, 19, 18) and China (45, 29, 29). The Tokyo Paralympics will end on September 5th.
