The Russian Ministry of Finance has calculated the daily costs of combating COVID-19 in the country

Russia has recently been spending more than 3 billion rubles a day on the fight against coronavirus infection. This statement was made by the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov.

Under normal circumstances, on average, about 2 billion rubles were spent for these purposes in the country every day. But at the moment, about 3.6 billion rubles are spent a day, the head of the Ministry of Finance said during a meeting with senators in the format of the “Open Dialogue”.

At the same time, he stressed that even in such conditions, problems with the provision of planned assistance to citizens should not be allowed. In this regard, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health have developed proposals for additional appropriations to support the compulsory health insurance (CHI) system in the amount of over 50 billion rubles, Siluanov added.

About half of Russian firms have cut their costs to mitigate the impact of COVID-19. This was previously reported by experts from Raiffeisenbank and the analytical agency B2B International.
