The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the statement of the Pentagon spokesman John Kirby. Earlier, he expressed bewilderment over Moscow’s actions against the background of the escalation of the conflict in Donbass. The Foreign Ministry’s response was published on its Telegram channel.
Earlier Kirby said that in Washington “it is completely unclear what the Russians are doing” around the situation with the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
“We have fully understood for a long time that you are completely incomprehensible. Catch up, ”the Russian Foreign Ministry said in response.
A Pentagon spokesman said yesterday that Russia is obliged to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. He also warned that Washington will continue to monitor the situation in Donbass.
Separately, Kirby recalled that the United States has already provided Kiev with “non-lethal and lethal” types of weapons so that the Ukrainians “could better defend themselves.”
Earlier, Stephen Blank, a senior researcher at the Atlantic Council think tank, told what weapons the West should transfer to Ukraine in order to hurt the Russian authorities.
In turn, Dan Helenius, a columnist for the Swedish version of the Finnish newspaper Yle, suggested that in the event of a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow would be able to repulse the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbass. At the same time, he believes, Russia does not have enough strength for an “easy walk” through the territory of Ukraine.
