The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the timing of certification of “Nord Stream – 2”

The certification process for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline may drag on until the summer, and further sanctions by the United States are also possible, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Pankin noted the peculiarities of the certification procedure, in which the process can drag on for several months. At the same time, he did not rule out that the complication may be due to actions by the United States.

“Maybe there is an American sledgehammer – why not imagine that the Americans will tell the Germans not to buy a single gram of Russian gas via Nord Stream? It may or may not be certified. They can apply anything. That is, intrigues can be at every step, ”said a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Note that Moscow has repeatedly stated that SP-2 is a commercial project and urged not to politicize it. At the same time, the United States and Ukraine are actively opposing the gas pipeline.

Earlier, the Minister of Economy, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Robert Habek said that the certification of Nord Stream 2 is being carried out in accordance with the law. He specified that the pipeline was completed and filled with gas. Habek noted that a permit is to be issued by the Federal Network Agency, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the European department.
