Rosgvardia proposed expanding the powers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB to check citizens when they receive permission to own weapons. This bill is posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The document notes that a license for the purchase of weapons will not be issued to those citizens in respect of whom a conclusion will be made “on the impossibility of owning a weapon due to the increased risk of violation of rights and freedoms.”
In addition, a valid weapon permit may also be revoked after appropriate verification.
The authors of the bill emphasize that the proposed restrictions are aimed at preventing weapons from falling into the hands of organized criminal groups, terrorists and extremists, as well as those who are going to use them to commit crimes.
Earlier, the head of the movement “For Security” Dmitry Kurdesov suggested introducing psychological monitoring of students wielding weapons in higher and secondary specialized educational institutions.
