Moldova does not recognize its historic gas debt to Russia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic Natalia Gavrilica on the air of the Moldova 1 TV channel.
She noted that the country’s historical gas debt is a large debt, which the Moldovan side does not recognize. According to her, this issue should not be part of the negotiations on the gas contract.
“This is a topic for a separate conversation, it should be discussed in a different context,” she stressed.
Earlier, RIA Novosti, citing a source, reported that negotiations between the Russian Federation and Moldova on gas ended in vain. The interlocutor of the publication doubted that the parties will be able to conclude a new contract for gas supplies before November 1. For this reason, after this date, the export of blue fuel to the republic may stop, the source said.
Earlier it was reported that on October 22, Moldova declared a state of emergency for 30 days in connection with the energy crisis. This decision will allow, in an accelerated mode, to receive funds for the purchase of additional volumes of gas to maintain the pressure in the gas pipeline.
