Finnish President Sauli Niiniste had a telephone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron, TASS reports.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation around Ukraine, security cooperation in the EU and cooperation with the United States.
In addition, Niiniste and Macron pointed to the importance of dialogue with Russia.
“It is necessary that the voice of Europe be heard clearly in the course of the debate,” the Finnish leader’s office said in a statement.
Recall that earlier the President of Finland also said that Russia’s demands for security guarantees to the United States and NATO are causing concern in Europe.
