PACE President Hendrik Dams accepted the complaint of the Russian delegation about the behavior of Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who repeatedly resorted to insults during the debates, and transferred all the minutes of the meeting to the regulations committee.
The head of the Russian delegation to PACE, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy said that the committee would consider the protocols and take action against Goncharenko.
“We do not allow ourselves such demarches, although we also have something to say,” the TASS deputy quotes.
He noted that during the debates on the resolution on the powers of the Russian delegation on Thursday, the Ukrainian parliamentarian again “slipped into absolutely boorish statements and insults” against Russia.
The delegation of the Russian Federation has already drawn the attention of the Assembly to the behavior of Alexey Goncharenko. Deputies from other countries also pointed to the inadmissibility of offensive statements on his part.
According to Tolstoy, most of the PACE members are beginning to get bored with the behavior of Ukrainian parliamentarians, and for some it is already irritating. “Many have begun to realize who they have to deal with,” the politician said.
