The company "Stone-XXI" asks to recognize itself as a victim.
On June 8, 56-year-old Mikhail Efremov provoked a fatal accident in the center of Moscow. That evening, the actor got behind the wheel of his car in a state of extreme alcoholic and, as it turned out later, drug intoxication. As a result, Mikhail Olegovich jumped into the oncoming lane on Smolenskaya Square and crashed into the van of the 57-year-old courier from Ryazan, Sergei Zakharov. The second driver died, and Efremov was eventually sentenced to eight years in a general regime penal colony, and also ordered to pay 800 thousand rubles in moral compensation to the eldest son of the deceased Zakharov.
It is worth noting that the artist has already managed not only to appeal his sentence, but also to hire a new lawyer. As you know, earlier the interests of Efremov were represented by Elman Pashayev. Now the actor will be protected Roman Filippov, a human rights activist with 15 years of experience. Mikhail Olegovich's intentions are clear - he continues to doubt his guilt in the death of Zakharov. So, the artist's main line of defense was that at the moment of the collision with Zakharov, Mikhail Olegovich was sitting in the passenger seat, while the artist was driving the car, another person whose identity Pashayev never revealed.
I must say that today another turn has taken place in the resonant case of Mikhail Efremov. Suddenly, for everyone, the company "Stone-XXI", which owned a car that was involved in an accident with the participation of an honored artist, spoke out about the verdict passed on to the artist. According to the source, representatives of the company appealed against the decision of the Presnensky District Court in relation to the actor and asked to recognize Stone-XXI as an injured party in this criminal case.
"The court received an appeal from the representative of Stone-XXI LLC against the Presnensky court verdict of September 8, 2020 in the criminal case against M.O. Efremov. - TASS reports the words of the representative of the Presnensky District Court.

By the way, this is not the first time that there have been free demands in the Efremov case. So, the common-law spouse of the deceased Sergei Zakharov asked the court to recognize her as a victim for two months. Irina Sterkhova until recently she insisted that although she was the courier's common-law wife, she still had every right to receive compensation from Mikhail Olegovich.
In mid-August, the Delikateska company, where Sergei Zakharov worked, also petitioned to recognize her as a victim in the case of Efremov's road accident. According to representatives of the company, Efremov caused them damage in the amount of 1 million 50 thousand rubles, crashing into the official transport of their courier. However, the court then did not consider it appropriate to satisfy the request of "Delikateski".
Mikhail and Anastasia Efremov
Recall that last Monday, Mikhail Efremov's elder sister Anastasia said that his whole family felt better after the verdict was announced. And although the artist's relatives do not agree with the final decision of the court, they are all glad that the difficult process has come to an end. However, Mikhail Olegovich has to attend many more meetings. As Anastasia said, her brother's family will fight to the end and is even ready to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
