The new Code of Administrative Offenses will not increase fines for traffic violations

The new Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) will not increase fines for traffic violations. This was reported in the Ministry of Justice, reports TASS.

The new document will toughen the punishment for driving while intoxicated when transporting minors under the age of 16. In such cases, the offender will have to pay an administrative fine of 50 thousand rubles. In addition, he will be deprived of his driver’s license for a period of two to three years.

It is reported that Russians who commit systematic violations of traffic rules (three or more times within one year) will be deprived of their driver’s license for a period of one to one and a half years. The project notes that this measure is being introduced to improve road safety.

The Ministry of Justice noted that the new Code of Administrative Offenses was sent for approval to the interested state authorities, as well as organizations and business associations.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia they plan to toughen the punishment for driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication, up to criminal liability.
