The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation will create a working group to prepare for the 2023 World Hockey Championship

The press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation announced the creation of a working group to prepare for the 2023 World Ice Hockey Championship, TASS reports.

“This will allow ensuring close interaction with the executors of the events at certain stages of preparation and prompt consideration of emerging issues. The sports and concert complex “Petersburg” is an ambitious project, the capacity of the arena is over 20 thousand spectators, the facility is designed for multifunctional use, – said the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin.

Recall that in 2023 Russia will host the adult and youth world championships. The senior world championship will be held in St. Petersburg, the youth – in Omsk and Novosibirsk.

Earlier it was reported that the head coach of the Russian youth team, Igor Larionov, may join the coaching staff of the national team at the World Cup this year.

The World Championship will take place in Riga from May 21 to June 6. In the group stage, the Russians will meet with the Swedes, Czechs, Swiss, Slovaks, Danes, British and Belarusians.
