Telegram channels Nexta, Nexta-Live and Luxta are recognized as extremist groups on the territory of Belarus. Information about this appeared in the community of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic in Telegram.
The ministry also clarified that a ban on the activities of Nexta, Nexta-Live and Luxta Internet resources was adopted on the territory of Belarus. The subscribers of the channels can be prosecuted in accordance with the decision of the government of the republic. They could face up to seven years in prison.
Earlier, eight Telegram communities were included in the list of extremist groups. The actions of the leaders, creators and other persons involved in the activities of these channels constitute a criminal offense.
Earlier it was reported that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko invited the CNN journalist to meet with Roman Protasevich, one of the founders of the Nexta Telegram channel, who is under house arrest in connection with organizing riots in the republic.
