The Cabinet plans to balance the state budget by cutting spending on weapons programs and salaries of officials, RIA Novosti reports.
This was announced by the head of the RF Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov during a conversation with reporters.
In the draft state budget, approved by the government, it is planned to optimize all “unprotected” items of expenditure by 10%. At the same time, state armament programs will be reduced by 5%. Also next year it is not planned to index the salaries of officials.
According to the minister, due to this, in 2021 budgetary allocations will be reduced by 927 billion rubles. In 2022 this figure will be 970 billion rubles, in 2023 - about 900 billion.
Siluanov also noted that the reduction in expenditure items will allow the government to reach general balanced principles of budgetary policy in 2022.
Earlier, the Russian government approved the draft federal budget for 2021 and the planning period of 2022-2023. Until October 1 cabinet plans to send the draft budget to the State Duma.
On the eve, the Ministry of Finance also prepared a draft amendment to the Tax Code, envisaging an increase in the rate of excise duty on cigarettes, tobacco products and electronic cigarettes by 20%.
