The meeting of the NATO-Russia Council will take place in Brussels on January 12 at ten in the morning

The meeting of the Russia-NATO Council, scheduled in Brussels for January 12, will begin at 10 am local time (12.00 Moscow time), RIA Novosti reports.

According to the statement of the North Atlantic Alliance, the meeting will be held at NATO headquarters, the negotiations will last about three hours.

Following the dialogue, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg plans to hold a press conference. Speech to the media is scheduled for 13.00, specified in the document.

Recall that Russia and the United States will hold talks in Geneva on January 10, where security guarantees will be discussed. On January 12, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will take place, and on January 13 – negotiations between representatives of the Russian Federation and the OSCE.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia’s proposals on security guarantees are aimed at creating and legalizing a new system of agreements based on the principle of abandoning attempts to achieve military superiority.

The United Nations Organization expressed hope yesterday that Moscow’s consultations with Washington, NATO and the OSCE on security issues will lead to de-escalation of tensions in the world.
