The AGM-183A Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) hypersonic missile, created in the United States, will be able to reach speeds of Mach 6.5-8, according to The Drive.
In addition, it will be capable of hitting a target at a distance of 1600 kilometers in 10-12 minutes. ARRW will be equipped with B-52H Stratofortress bombers. As it became known to the publication, the weapons will enter the US Armed Forces in 2022.
Recall that the Pentagon talked about the need to increase the speed of production in the field of hypersonic weapons. According to the head of the department, Mark Esper, in the development of such weapons, Washington has to catch up with Moscow. American leader Donald Trump announced the creation of "super-duper" missiles that will be more terrible than Russian ones.
Several hypersonic missiles are currently being developed in the United States. In September, the US Department of Defense announced the successful completion of one of the test stages of two prototypes of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC) hypersonic cruise missile.
