Armed formations of Ukraine fired at the territory of the self-proclaimed LPR three times a day, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the republic’s representation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime.
According to an officer of the LPR representative office in the JCCC, the Ukrainian military opened fire on the settlements of Frunze, Nikolaevka and Zolote-5. The shelling was carried out from mortars and a grenade launcher.
After the coup in Kiev in February 2014, the DPR and LPR declared their independence, after which the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against them. In the summer of 2020, additional measures to monitor compliance with the ceasefire came into force in Donbas.
At the end of October, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on partners in Europe to urge Kiev to end the violence in Donbass.
