The head of Tuva, Sholban Kara-ool, announced his resignation in a video message posted on social networks.
On the eve of April 7, it was reported that he left the post of his own free will. President Vladimir Putin accepted his resignation.
In his video message, Sholban Kara-ool says that April 7 has become a “landmark” for him. It was on this day in 2007 that he took office.
“The main order of our fellow countrymen at that time was to support the village, our livestock breeders, they completed all the long-term construction projects, and new facilities appeared. A large program has begun to build new housing, new roads and bridges. We did our best to improve life in the republic. This became possible thanks to the full support of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and our Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, ”says the ex-head of Tuva.
Before the new head of the republic takes office, Vladislav Khovalyg will act as the head of the region.
Recall that in March, Znak.com published an article stating that the capital of the republic, Kyzyl, leads the rating of the most dangerous cities in Russia, and crime and drunkenness flourish in the republic. After that, Sholban Kara-ool accused Znak.com journalists of slandering the republic.
