The head of the PNS Libya announced the intention to transfer powers by the end of October

The head of the Government of National Accord (PNC) of Libya, Faiz Sarraj, on the air of the Al Jazeera TV channel announced the decision to transfer his powers by the end of October to a new executive authority.

“I declare my sincere desire to transfer powers no later than the end of October,” he said.

The head of the PNS explained that by this time he expects the completion of the work of the negotiating committee and the formation of a new Presidential Council of the country. At the same time, Sarraj called on the committee to ensure a peaceful transition of power. In addition, he noted that this time is needed to complete all the necessary procedures for the inter-Libyan dialogue.

“We have watched the meetings and consultations between Libyans. We welcome them, ”Sarraj added and noted that they will lead to the unification of state institutions, as well as to prepare the conditions for holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya.

The meeting of the inter-Libyan negotiating commission will take place in Geneva on September 17-28.
