Complications from coronavirus are nearly twice as common as those from seasonal flu and other respiratory illnesses. This was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko on the air of the Russia 24 channel.
According to him, complications after COVID-19 are neurological and psychiatric in nature. In addition, men over 35 are twice as likely to have complications and end up in intensive care than women of the same age.
Murashko added that these problems can be avoided by being vaccinated against coronavirus. He recalled that all drugs used for vaccination in Russia are reliable, effective and safe.
Currently, there are three COVID-19 vaccines registered in the country: Sputnik V from the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry, Epivakkorona from the Vector Center of Rospotrebnadzor and Kovivak from the Chumakov Center.
