Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said he was working on the return of Crimea. The head of the department hopes that he will be able to involve Western countries in solving the problem.
The minister promised to do everything possible to turn the Crimea theme from “sacred to hellish” for Russia. “I am absolutely convinced that the day will come when the Ukrainian flag will be raised in Simferopol,” Dmitry Kuleba said.
In his opinion, the Crimean Platform, a platform for coordinating international efforts aimed at returning the peninsula, should play an important role in solving the problem.
The head of the department said that several countries have already expressed a desire to participate in the discussion. It is noteworthy that Kuleba refused to list the leaders who supported Ukraine. “We’re still talking,” he replied.
Earlier, Nezalezhnaya President Vladimir Zelensky announced his readiness for general mobilization in case of war with Russia. At the same time, the head of the country noted that he would not like such a scenario: “Let’s hope that this is impossible.”
Recall that Crimea became part of Russia after a referendum in March 2014. According to official results, most of the peninsula’s residents voted to join the neighboring country.
Ukraine refused to recognize the voting results. Russia, in turn, said that the referendum was held in accordance with international laws, and therefore the issue of ownership of the peninsula should be considered closed.
