Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy to support the developers of microcircuits for “smart” meters, according to the website of the Cabinet.
The Kaliningrad developers of microprocessors and microcontrollers, at a meeting with the Prime Minister, said that they are ready for serial production of their products.
As a reminder, Russia has adopted a law on the introduction of intelligent electricity metering systems.
Earlier it was reported that the Russians were exempted from all costs for the installation and calibration of electricity meters. It is now necessary to monitor the safety of devices only for those who have them in an apartment or on a private land plot.
The Ministry of Energy stressed that the introduction of smart meters will not lead to an increase in the cost of electricity. The costs of power companies for the installation will be compensated by reducing electricity losses by 70-80 billion rubles per year.
