Russia has approved the rules for providing state support for the publication of socially significant literature within the framework of the state program “Development of Culture”.
The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister of the country Mikhail Mishustin, the document was published on the government website.
“Subsidies can be obtained for the publication of new literature – the one that is absent on the Russian book market,” the explanatory note says.
Since this year, the Ministry of Digital Industry has been conducting a competitive selection of publishing houses and providing funding. It is noteworthy that state support is provided only to those organizations that have been working for at least one year.
The declared products must be relevant and original, as well as have a social orientation, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers explained, specifying that these, for example, can be books telling about significant dates in Russian history and culture, raising the problems of the younger generation or promoting a healthy image life.
Earlier it became known that mobile services for reading and listening to books of domestic development will be included in the list of applications recommended for pre-installation on gadgets sold in the country.
