The Federation Council was skeptical about the idea of a zero VAT rate on products

Senator Konstantin Dolgov appreciated the idea of introducing a zero VAT rate on products ordered remotely during the pandemic. Earlier it was nominated by State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov.

In a comment to RIA Novosti, a member of the Federation Council noted that all economic initiatives should initially be discussed with the government.

He also stressed that earlier lawmakers have adopted a number of initiatives aimed at alleviating the financial situation of people. Thus, the 2021 budget includes measures of social support for citizens, and senators insist that "all social obligations of the state to Russians be fulfilled."

The parliamentarian, in addition, recalled the statement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade that despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, retail outlets will not be closed and "distance selling will not be uncontested."

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree that the sale of vehicles for transporting disabled people will be exempt from value added tax, chernayakobra.ru wrote.
