The father of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov, has died, the country’s State News Agency reported.
It is noted that the father of the Turkmen leader was born on August 12, 1932 in the village of Birleshik-1, Geoktepe etrap. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a librarian and later as a primary school teacher.
From June 1958 to 1982, Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov worked in various positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel, after which he was engaged in teaching.
In addition, the father of the President of Turkmenistan worked at the National Institute of Education, as well as the Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences and the Department of Education of Ashgabat.
The name of Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov is borne by the capital’s military unit No. 1001 and the Choganly residential complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Bagtyyarlyk etrap of the capital.
