The explosion thundered in Jalalabad in the east of Afghanistan

A powerful explosion occurred today in Jalalabad, the administrative center of the Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. Asvaka agency reports.

According to the agency, a vehicle of the radical Taliban movement, banned in the Russian Federation, was blown up near the Shabarkhan-Agha mosque. Now there is a shootout between the Taliban and, probably, militants of the Islamic State in Khorasan group, which is an offshoot of the Islamic State organization banned in the Russian Federation.

Other details of the incident are currently unknown.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged not to rush to officially recognize the Taliban, but noted that there is an understanding of the need to interact with them.
