Former Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Skuratov admitted to trying to bring Anatoly Chubais to justice: “I went along the edge.” According to the former, the former head of Rusnano has more than once managed to avoid a sad outcome thanks to his own discernment.
Former Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Skuratov in an interview with the RTVI channel spoke about the special presidential envoy for relations with international organizations Anatoly Chubais.
In response to a direct question about whether the latter is a criminal, Skuratov stressed that he had to answer in the negative, if speaking from a legal point of view.
At the same time, the channel’s interlocutor said that Chubais had been repeatedly tried to prosecute, but he always managed to get out of the water due to his insight and good lawyers, whom the ex-head of Rusnano greatly appreciated.
Thus, he always managed to bypass threats to himself literally “on the brink,” added the country’s former attorney general. He noted that, if we talk about political responsibility, Chubais is undoubtedly to blame for the state of the domestic economy, which leaves much to be desired, and the numerous hardships of the Russian people.
But legally he is not a criminal, – summed up Skuratov.
