The doctor told how to cope with depression from COVID-19

Every third coronavirus patient suffers from a nervous or mental disorder. Psychiatrist, psychotherapist, psychologist Natalya Satiri told about this to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Against the background of the pandemic, according to the specialist, the number of complaints of panic attacks, lack of air, a sense of fear and palpitations increased sharply. Those who have been ill face nervous exhaustion at the physiological level, a person becomes irritable, anxious, mood worsens, and depressive disorder develops.

Satiri noted that depression is a real disease, the cause of which is a decrease in the level of serotonin in the body, in which case people need drug treatment.

In order not to bring oneself to such a state, the doctor recommends practicing the technique “here and now”, enjoying every moment of life. The second tip is to think positively about what is good in a person’s life.

In addition, you should communicate more, while discussing only the positive points. The fourth tip: find some kind of entertainment for yourself that will help you overcome your discouragement.

Earlier it became known that more than 33% of patients who underwent coronavirus infection in the next six months faced neurological or psychiatric disorders.
