The singer must publish two campaign videos
Former member of the Tatu pop duet Yulia Volkova has been approved as a candidate for the United Russia primaries. This was announced on Friday, April 30, by the secretary of the regional branch of the party in the Ivanovo region, Sergei Nizov.
He noted that the organizing committee unanimously approved the singer’s candidacy, since “she has all the submitted documents in order.” At the same time, Nizov added, this decision can be canceled if Volkova does not present two videos to the public on the Preliminary Voting – 2021 website within two weeks, Dni.ru writes.
The singer personally applied for participation in the EP primaries. The ex-“tatuka” herself informed her fans about her decision a couple of days ago by posting on Instagram a picture taken at the regional branch of the party.
Volkova will go to the primaries of United Russia as a non-partisan candidate from the Ivanovo region in the Kineshemsky single-mandate constituency, RIA Novosti said.
The preliminary voting will take place from 24 to 30 May across the country. Despite the fact that, according to the law, the nomination of candidates was supposed to end the day before, on April 29, the federal committee extended this stage until May 14.
The elections to the State Duma will be held on September 19, 2021.
