The government has approved an action plan to develop the liquefied natural gas market for the next five years, TASS reports.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin explained that this is important from the point of view of gasification of the regions. According to him, work in this direction must be accelerated. In particular, it is necessary to create an infrastructure for autonomous gasification in Siberia and the Far East. It is specified that in these regions it is not always possible to lay pipeline networks.
Earlier it was reported that the implementation of gasification programs in Russia is estimated at almost 2 billion rubles. The head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, noted that Gazprom’s funds alone cannot be used in this situation, therefore additional sources of financing will be required.
The gasification level in the country should reach 83% by 2030. At the end of 2019, this figure was 70.1%.
