The government has allocated more than 4 billion rubles for the purchase of half a million bottles of the drug for the treatment of COVID-19. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the press service of the government reports.
According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, the government has allocated funds for the purchase of drugs for the treatment of patients with covid in hospitals. In the Telegram channel of the Cabinet of Ministers, it is noted that it is about the medicine “Remdesivir”.
“At least half a million bottles of antiviral drugs will be purchased so that the necessary medicine is available in hospitals,” the Prime Minister said during a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council on Combating Coronavirus.
Mishustin stressed that the purchased medicine is especially necessary in the first days of treatment.
The prime minister added that the Cabinet will allocate 300 million rubles for the state registration of drugs and medical devices. According to him, the number of requests for an examination of “recently manifested medicines” has increased recently.
The Prime Minister also noted the need to bring the documentation for a number of drugs in line with the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union. Mishustin explained that this would help to quickly check the quality of new drugs and bring them to the market. So, according to the prime minister, they will become available to citizens.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the governors have the right to extend restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic after the end of the all-Russian non-working day regime.
