Texas authorities banned power outages for debtors

In the US, Texas, authorities imposed a temporary ban on power outages for debtors and froze the distribution of electricity bills, regional television channel CBSDFW reports.

This decision was made by the Texas Utilities Commission during an emergency meeting. Local residents were thus temporarily allowed not to pay for electricity.

It is noted that extreme weather conditions in the state have led to a significant jump in electricity prices for a number of operators.
